Recently the Wilmington office of Legal Aid of North Carolina, a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice, recognized 33 attorneys and the law firm of Shipman & Wright for providing pro bono legal services to our clients from September 2018 to September 2020.
Upon receiving the award on October 9, 2020, Gary Shipman said, “In over 40 years of practicing law in Wilmington, NC- its been critically important to members of Shipman & Wright to do our best to provide legal services to as many of our fellow citizens in New Hanover County and surrounding areas and removing legal barriers to economic opportunity. On behalf of Shipman & Wright, myself, William Wright, Jillian Blanchard, and Sara Leopold; we are honored by this award from Legal Aid of North Carolina.”
