Jillian C.S. Blanchard was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, and is happy to be practicing law in her hometown. Her family always said that her interests and skills would lead her to a career as a lawyer, and by middle school, Jillian knew that was exactly what she wanted to do.
After years of dreaming about being “under a Carolina sky” at Williams-Brice Stadium, Jillian packed her bags and made Columbia, South Carolina, her second home. As an undergraduate student, she served as the Professional Development Chair for the pre-law academic fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Southern Studies.
There was never a question where Jillian would attend law school—The University of South Carolina School of Law! As a law student, she served as a Production Editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal, was a member of the Pro Bono Board and the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, and served as President of the Christian Legal Society. Jillian focused her legal studies on anything and everything involving dirt and property—construction and land development, property disputes, land use planning, real estate and business transactions, and wills, trusts, and estates!
Jillian is currently licensed to practice law in North Carolina and South Carolina, and focuses her practice on construction, general counsel work, and business transactions. Jillian is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association Construction Law Section, where she currently serves as a Council Member on the Section and Chair of the Section’s Communications Committee.
Jillian is happily married to her best friend, William (“Bill”) Blanchard, Jr., and enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and teacup Chihuahua, Bella Ballou. She is a lover of the great outdoors, who enjoys hunting, fishing and horseback riding, and a diehard SEC college football fan, who never misses a South Carolina game.
